Slip Sliding - Skid Pan Day!

Sunday 2 December saw RoADAR East Yorkshire E-YARD take to the track en-masse!

Well actually, the oil/water skid pan at Tockwith near York.

Arranged by the group Vice Chair, Jo B, eleven members of the club, Jo, Jules, Charlie, Andy D, Dave & Christine C, Dave P and his son Mark, Alwyn, Mike B and Mark K, made their way to the circuit for a day of skill learning and fun, learning how to drive a car in a skid.

Using BMW's which are rear wheel drive cars, the members took turns at the wheel learning how to deal with oversteer and control the car in a skid.

The event had been thrown open to both Car and Bike members and there was a fifty / fifty split of the two disciplines present. The experience was enjoyed by all.

Great skill to learn, how to recover a skidding car, particularly just before the winter takes a strong hold!
