Amended Group Name
E-YARD, East Yorkshire Advanced Riders & Drivers, was re-launched almost two years ago, described as 'rising like a Phoenix from the ashes of East Riding of Yorkshire RoADAR Group'! It was branded as E-YARD, to give the group an identity with an easy to remember and 'catchy' name, reflecting a strong local connection and a memorable, easily identifiable logo. Whilst E-YARD was doing so, and has since been growing, RoSPA's Advanced Driver & Riders team were going through a sim

Biker Down - Humberside!
Sunday 27 January continued where Saturday had finished off....in the classroom! Another good day for RoSPA Advanced Drivers And Riders East Yorkshire - E-YARD with twelve members attending the inaugural Humberside Fire & Rescue service Biker Down event. The event was presented by Dale Turrell, and Dave Prideaux. The course looked at basic scene management, first aid, biker helmet removal and conspicuity. RoADAR Road Show
Interesting day at the RoSPA Road Show at National Railway Museum York Nice to see the RoADAR/RoSPA HQ team come out to speak to the groups locally. Some interesting dialogue between attendees and HQ staff. Louise Goodman from ITV Motor Sport was an excellent guest speaker. The conference looked at technology in vehicle and how it should be dealt with in respect of training and examining.
How to appeal to younger drivers having looked at the demographic for casualties

Back to Basics!
RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders East Yorkshire (E-YARD) held the monthly meeting as usual, on the fourth Wednesday of the month, at Beverley Gold Club. The meeting was really well attended, with 17 members and associates braving the coldest night of the season! Chris Hood gave a Back to Basics overview of RoadCraft in a brief masterclass on the System of Vehicle Control. The presentation was well received and led to some great discussion between both new and experienced att

Social Ride for New Member
New member Bob Stephenson opened his account with a casual post on the RoADAR East Yorkshire - EYARD FaceBook page asking if anyone fancied a ride out. Paul Morton and Chris Hood rallied to the call and a 100 mile+ ride around the Yorkshire Wolds ensued! As it was Bob's first ride out he agreed to an initial assessment by Chris! Bob is a qualified IAM Master and National Observer, so he didn't ride too shabbily! A good day out, fueled by coffee and tea!
