TRAINING FOR ALL
Tutor Cadre - Meet The Team

Advanced Bike Tutor & Training Lead
Adam Abel
Adam is the sort of person who you would describe as being born on a bike - his birth must have caused discomfort for his mum!
Bike mad, particularly KTM's he seems to have one for every occasion.
Adam is ex forces, and is now in his second career as a Paramedic.
Having lived all over the country, Adam has been involved in several Advanced training groups, both RoSPA and IAM, and has been a tutor previously. He is a great asset to the E-YARD tutor hub, with a dynamic and enthuseastic approach to riding and training

Bike and Car Examiner
Chris Hood
Chris is one of the founding members of the group, a retired police traffic supervisor who ran BikeSafe for several years.
Chris holds a RoSPA Diploma in addition to police class 1 motorcycle and car qualifications.
Actively involved in training the tutor team he occasionally tutors group members too.
Chris is also a motorcycle and car examiner for RoSPA.

Advanced Bike Tutor
Denise Rose
"Rosie" as she is known by most people is a true biker chick, preferring two wheels to four every time!
Holder of a Gold grade, she has been a member of numerous bike forums and groups, and this group from it's inception.
Currently riding an adventure bike, her previous machine was heavily customised and she used to quarter-mile drag strip it!
As soon as she qualified as a group tutor she was chomping at the bit and now also delivers BikeSafe as an E-YARD observer with the local team

Bike & Car
Julian Taylor
Julian is actively involved in the group - both Bikes and Cars.
Passing car test in '75 and bike in 1980, He holds a Class 1 Advanced police qualification, in addition to RoSPA Gold for both car and bike.
Julian is a keen caravaner (and a biker?). When you meet him, ask him about handbrakes when you stop at services...All we can say is don't leave a car and caravan in neutral on even a slight incline...
Julian is Involved with organising training and delivering tutoring in both disciplines.
He is an avid motorsport fan, particularly MotoGP, but takes an interest in most wheeled and engined sports.

Advanced Car & Bike Tutor
Ian Wood
After achieving RoSPA gold passes, both in the car and on the bike, Ian qualified as a group car tutor in 2022 and joined the bike tutor team in 2024, only three years after passing his DVSA bike test in 2021. Determined to develop his skills further and give back to the group, he qualified as an Advanced Tutor for both cars and bikes in 2025. As a school teacher and sports coach, Ian draws upon his 19 years of experience in the classroom to tailor training for every associate he has the privilege to work with. He loves to see people progress and firmly believes in every individual's ability to reach their potential behind the wheel or on the bike.
His current car is living proof that Skoda invented the tardis in the form of an Octavia estate - he hopes his next one will have a vrs badge on it... On 2 wheels, he loves proving that his 650 Versys can hold its own amongst its bigger-engined companions!
Ian's favourite places to be are in the mountains and generally spending time with his family - especially if involves camping in France!

Advanced Bike Tutor
Guy Gregory
A chance meeting at a motorcycle shop whilst picking up his BMW GSA led to a conversation with E-YARD members.
Guy made the mistake of saying he was interested in advanced riding and would like some details, A year later, RoSPA test in pocket, Guy is on the tutor team!
Guy has gone on to be one of the E-YARD's Advanced Tutors.
Whether it's touring Scotland with mates, sand racing classic bikes, E-YARD social rides or solo bimbles around the Wolds, Guy takes every opportunity he can to ride his dream bike!

Advanced Bike Tutor
Lee Evans
Lee is best described as a train driving petrol head with a lifelong passion for cars and bikes, although didn’t come to biking formally until 2012. After many years in cars he struggled initially to adapt to bikes so he sought guidance through advanced training, track training and various skills days. Having joined E-YARD he quickly took his advanced test and commenced his tutor training shortly afterwards.
In his own words, he is now proudly giving something back to the community as a group tutor.
Lee has a stable of bikes, from sports to commuters and takes every opportunity to get out riding.

Car Tutor - Diploma
David Pattenden
Dave retired from the police service after 30 years and became a driving instructor teaching learners initially. Wanting another challenge he joined RoSPA and took his Advanced Tutor qualification. Having been re-qualified in this role twice, it is safe to say Dave is one of the best in the business and E- YARD has a great resource with him on the team

Bike Tutor
Jade Abel
Jade works as a paramedic and, along with her husband is a bike nut! Owning a KTM and a Yamaha Tracer 7 she spends as much of her free off duty time on two wheels, rain, sun, snow - you name it!
Jade throws herself into everything she does and has taken as much training in motorcycling as she can, from road to off road, she'll do it all.
Quaifying as a group tutor, added to her resumé along side Doc Bike Ambassedor, active engagement in Fire Bike promotion, supporting Yorkshire Air Ambulance, promotion and recruitment for Lady Biker as well as the driving force behind many E-YARD strategies. Jade somehow manages to promote herself through #ladyandtheduke and 'relaxes' painting (mainly bikes!) and tending to a family of Guinea Pigs!

Bike Tutor
Mike Allen
Mike has been a motorcyclist for all his adult life.
Currently riding a 1200GS Adventure, he also has a 25 year old CBR600 in his garage which he has owned most of those years!

Bike Tutor
Mark Lawson
Mark is an imported Bedfordian with an engineering background, having worked in both the defence and manufacturing sectors over a 40 year career.
He relocated to East Riding of Yorkshire in 2017, for all this wonderful region has to offer - not a missionary!

He has had many interests over the years including fishing, rugby, judo, and horse riding. Mark has also served with the Territorial Army.
However, motorcycling is the one interest that has been there through out.
Mark became a member of E-YARD in 2023 starting his Advanced Rider Training that July. He achieved a Gold standard pass the same year.
He began bike tutor training in 2024, mainly because he had enjoyed his rider training so much and was really keen to give something back.
He became a Bike Group Tutor early 2025.
Mark has a Triumph Tiger Sport 660, but his real love is his BMW K1600GT on which he has covered many miles travelling throughout Europe and the UK.
