August Review

The first couple of days of August saw Julian T crediting himself with a gold car standard test and Andy B replicating his own car gold with a bike one!

A big well done to both.

Julians qualification also doubled as his Group Tutor requalification and new certification.

The Breakfast Club had a great turn out on the first weekend, with a few guests attending and being made welcome.

After the usual East Coast Butties a group of 10 bikes head out through West Yorkshire and on to Cheshire to visit the Anderton Boat Lift, via Holmfirth.

We did look for the cast of the Last of the Summer WIne and think we were successful

A replacement for Nora Batty was even identified....

A superb ride out with a mix of many different machines. Our guests seemed to have a good time as did Ivan and Paul M on their inaugural E-YARD ride-out

Training continued with Rosie being prolific in her delivery to associates!

Getting out with Julia, Paul, and Dave K in addition to initial assessment of Darryl.

She continued her commitments with Humberside BikeSafe as well!

The Gal is a machine!

As the heatwave subsided the fun still continued with Rosie and Chris riding out after Rosie's training session with Paul and Chris completing a riding test.

A cracking ride over the Wolds from Seaways to Hunmanby finishing with the traditional ice cream - pity the wares at Spirit of Yorkshire distillery were off limits!

August monthly meeting took place at East Coast with a surprisingly big turnout for middle of the summer holidays.

RiDE magazine's Simon Weir was the guest speaker and gave a very interesting insight into how motorcycles are tested for review, how product launches are conducted and the testing to destruction of clothing - all in the interest of providing the best information before readers part with their hard earned cash!

E-YARD have recruited several members to the Tutor Group over the last six months, meaning that as E-YARD grows and the brand becomes better known we are able to meet the needs of associates in a more timely manner.

The waiting list has been reduced to virtually zero with the hard work of Rosie our membership secretary.

Dave P is busy training both associates and developing Andy B in the role of Group Car Tutor.

Chris H is actively boosting the motorcycle Group Tutors.

The intention of ending the year with a full complement of six car tutors and a dozen bike tutors is looking ever more achievable.

*****The Tutor Team grows!*****

As the end of August approached the group had a final Thursday evening meet up. East Coast was unavailable so a meet up at Beverley was arranged.

Dave Hardwick led the gang on a Long Way Round trip to South Cave and the Zoom-Zoom Cafe.

The latest batch of E-YARD clothing has been distributed and another run has been ordered. Anyone wanting to order club regalia please contact the secretary yardmembership@gmail.com. There are two styles, plain blue collared or navy t shirt with a white flash on the chest. Prices approximately £16.00

September will see most of the Tutor Team spending a weekend training, honing and developing their skills - watch the blog for updates!

Jo is arranging a Skid Pan day in York, please view the Facebook page for more details, and there will be another Progressive Driver Development Course with Andy T in October
