March Review '19
As Spring officially arrived, the glorious sunshine of last month turned into the more normal British weather, with Storm Freya rolling in.
As she did so, the group held it's inaugural Tutor Training Programme with 13 tutors, trainee tutors and potential tutors in attendance at Beverley Golf Club.
Some great ideas were shared between the members of the Tutor Hub in addition to the presentation.
Brand new Group Motorcycle Tutor, Pippa 'Popsicle' Unwin, took her first associate out and was immediately QA'd by Chris H!
More training was helped by the generally good weather that March afforded, with both car and bike training continuing throughout the month, with most tutors getting out and about.
As the month grew to a close, the inaugural Breakfast Club of 2019 took place with a 200 mile ride from Beverley Golf club, over the Howardian Hills and on to Leyburn for lunch, before heading back and finishing at Seaways.
E-YARD' AGM took place on the fourth Wednesday of March and saw the committee for the following year sworn in.
John Wright - Chair
Andy Brittan - Treasurer
Chris Hood - Secretary
Jo Bowers - Vice Chair
Denise Rose - Membership Secretary
Julian Taylor - Training Officer
As can be seen, the treasurer was overcome by the proceedings!
Details of the meeting can be found on the website under minutes.
As the month drew to a close, preparations continued for the #ridethewolds event on Sunday 14 April.
Chris H had a couple of meetings with Wolds Way Cafe owners Mick & Diane and secured numerous bookings for attendees, including 5-Ways Motorcycle Centre, Miles Kingsport, Safer Roads Humber, East Riding Council Road Safety Team, Visorcat, SW Motorcycles, Acklams Coaches, Advanced Riders North Yorkshire, Hull & East Riding Advanced Motorcyclists, Advanced Riding for Bikers, Ian Speight and BikeSafe
Mark Kelk and Chris did recce runs of the route and may have had the odd coffee along the way!
March saw two passes, with John Wright (Bike) requalifying his tri-annual test, as did Andy Trevor (Car)
March saw some excellent weather which made for plenty of riding , both socially and training, and had the car trainers out enjoying unseasonally dry and frost free roads, with approximately 25.5 hours car training and 15 hours bike training - that's a working week's worth of FREE tuition delivered by the Tutor Hub!
Next month sees the big event - #RideTheWolds - taking place on Sunday 14 April at The Wolds Way Cafe, Market Weighton.
