July Review

The Summer of 2018! What a scorcher!

July continued to be a hot one, with World Cup fever adding to the temperature. the hottest British F1 Grand Prix on record and E-YARD blazing a trail at the annual Crowle Emergency Services Rescue Day!

E-YARD were invited to represent road safety and spread the RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders message at the event.

The 'Team' was pulled together comprising Car Tutor Jo, Motorcycle Associates Julia & Carolyne and Trainee Motorcycle Tutor Mark.

Actively engaged with other agencies and explaining how our training works, the team also had time to join in with the activities and 'liaise' with police and fire service.

The Rescue day was a showcase for the emergency services to display what they do in emergency situations, how they work cohesively, practice and train as well as educate the public and promote safer pratices to prevent incidents developing.

Busy tutoring sessions continued with Rosie getting out with associates Julia, Paul, Rod and David

Not all Rosie, Dave Hardwick also got out with Julia - the gal gets around!

Julian and Rosie assisted Humberside BikeSafe on a sell out workshop on Saturday 14 July.

July saw new memberships registered, Phil Ward and Martin Bleasby

As summer rolled on, the East Coast Motorcycle World Bike Nights continued to be as popular as ever, and providing impromptu group meetings!

Another Gold pass was acheived by Martin Bleasby, owner of our meeting place, East Coast. Martin then followed this up with a Group Motorcycle Tutor qualification!

Well done Martin!

The 2018 Driffield show took place on Wednesday 18 July and saw an 'Events Team' of four, Andy T, Dave P, Julia and Jo from E-YARD representing the group and RoSPA with our partners on the Safer Roads Humber stand.

The Driffield Show is mainly an agricultural show that has grown to include all aspects of modern life, meaning our message was ideally placed to appeal to the rural community.

Ian Streets qualified as a tutor after a grueling testing session with Chris H!

A great new addition to the tutor team helping deliver the best training in East Yorkshire.

He was joined by Dave Hardwick in qualifying making it THREE new bike Tutors for E-YARD in July. Cake was required!

As the month drew to a close E-YARD attended the last of the July public events, the Veterans Weekend at East Park, Hull

Again Safer Roads Humber hosted our team of three - Jo, Julia and Sylvia

They seemed to have a gravitational pull towards the police bike, all determined to get their leg-over - easier said than done!

Plenty of engagement with the good folk of Hull spreading the RoSPA word!

A red hot month for E-YARD as the group continues to establish itself firmly in the fabric of East Yorkshire and Hull.

E-YARD has further plans to expand it's appeal and become involved with more local community projects as our reputation grows
